What do you need from me?
Your address, household size, number of bathrooms, whether a softener is already installed, and what you are noticing — scale, spotting, no lather, stiff laundry, a rumbling water heater. Photos of the garage wall or utility area help a lot.

What will the estimate actually tell you?
A useful estimate explains the reasoning, not just a number: which system, why it fits your household, where it goes, what plumbing is included, and what maintenance it will need. A single figure with no scope attached is impossible to compare against anyone else's.
Why do quotes vary so much between companies?
Because the scope usually differs. Grain capacity, valve type, resin volume, efficiency rating, warranty length, whether old equipment removal is included, whether new plumbing is in the price — all of it moves the total. A lower number is not better value if it excludes the drain line you actually need.
When you compare, line up capacity, valve type, included labor, and warranty side by side rather than looking only at the bottom figure.
What happens during the visit?

- We check the loop, main line, drain, outlet, and clearance for service
